You Forget to Look Up

I have been in New York for three weeks now and it has been quite the experience! I am enjoying the work I am doing at BASLER and cruising along on a revelating journey! (Further information pending)

On Wednesday Morgan and I attended a "How to Be a Kick-ass Intern" gathering in the Riverside park area and it was quite entertaining! It was technically for interns that belonged to certain intern chapters across the country and were now working for a magazine in the city. I met neither of the qualifications but went anyway and spent the evening as a Marie Claire poser intern. Definitely worth it! Met many lovely people with great connections and even made a friend or two. Success.

On Thursday we cooked a cheap pasta dinner and drank equally as cheap wine which is exactly how I imagined my 20's being. So I am happy I am living up to that expectation and it must be documented!
So, we did in fact make two friends from the intern soiree and they accepted an invite for cocktails at the Fat Cat Music Hall! (by invite I mean text message and by cocktails I mean $3 PBRs)
One of the first conversations Ian:, intern friend, started with me was "Have you ever noticed that the look on Benjamin Franklin's face on the $100 bill is like someone just stole his parking spot?" Genius. I must share that with the world. Hilarious! Anyways, when we arrived at the Fat Cat we were in such luck as the Gospel Queens of Brooklyn were the musical entertainment for the evening. None of the four queens younger than 60, accompanied by a rocker bass guitarist and drummer. It really doesn't get much better than that, quite an epic performance.

And today was a day at The Met to see the glorious Punk: Chaos to Couture exhibit. It was absolutely fantastic. The fashion forward movement of not giving a s**t, wearing recycled goods, and making rebellious statements. Whats not to love? I was scolded in every room for taking photos, but it would've been just wrong to follow the rules in such an exhibit. So in fact, the weird camera angles of the exhibit photos are not due to my fantastic photographer's eye, I was just trying to be sneaky and snapping what I could.
